Inventory Control Supervisor

The Inventory Control Supervisor (TMS) is responsible for organizing and facilitating various inventory management and control activities to support The Mobile Shop (TMS). Prepares reports to detail inventory related adjustments for the retail organization.

Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly reports to aid the Purchasing team in monitoring outstanding purchase orders
  • Follow-up with vendors on delinquent shipments and order discrepancies
  • Assist with monthly cycle count communication and store support to ensure proper procedures are being adhered to
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate the yearly cycle count schedule for the retail and warehouse locations
  • Audit and update monthly cycle counts conducted by retail and warehouse locations
  • Promote proper execution of Inventory Count processes through various communication methods and reports
  • Record and follow up with retail locations that have not submitted required monthly cycle counts
  • Investigate Inventory discrepancies and ensure reported variances are accurate
  • Produce and audit store adjustment reports
  • Investigate general inventory shrinkages and recommend action to limit profit loss
  • Assess and propose business process enhancements where required
  • Document and publish Inventory Control processes for the field and head office
  • General support to Purchasers and Reverse Logistics departments

Qualifications

  • Post secondary training in Business and/or supply chain management
  • 5 years direct supply chain experience and/or retail management
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to take initiative
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Lead and participate in the development of inventory processes & procedures
  • Problem solving skills and process improvement experience
  • Understanding of financial accounting concepts and reporting processes
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain, Planning, Inventory Control, and purchasing in a head office environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Exposure to POS applications (RQ, SAP, etc.)
  • English/French language preferred
